On Saturday 10th September we held a Farm Walk and Tasting. Well done the 40 or hardy folk who braved the Dumfriesshire weather conditions.

We set off on a fascinating walk around the farm, to see the deer, Blue Grey Cattle South Country Chievot and Texel sheep and the farms rich biodiversity. During the walk we found out about venison, its history and why it’s one of the healthiest and most environmentally friendly meats around. After the walk we ate some roasted haunch of venison, venison sirloin, venison sausage and venison burger. We also cooked up some wild rabbit with mushroom and cheese sauce, this was all accompanied by a selection of delicious breads and rolls from Stuart Byers from nearby Gimmenbie Farm, better known as The Baking Farmer.
