The end of the winter

The deer have had a fairly long wet winter (which fallow deer hate). However as you can see from the photo the red deer have been perfectly happy The red deer are native to Scotland and consequently very hardy.  The fallow deer are non native brought here from the continent.

Feeding again!

Its the time of year when we start giving the deer a wee bit of food. As you can see from the photo, we always like to dress our best for the deer Daisy is a rather inquisitive deer always looking for a head scratch and cuddle

Meet Daisy Daisy is one of our very first red deer that we ever bought. She has 2 fiends called Dud and Gasgow.  We have had the three of them since calves. They are 5 now.

Fawing and Calving 2015

Fawing started 10 days earlier than usual on June 10th. The first ever red deer calves were born at Millbank on June 10th.Gestation period of deer is related to nutrition, the deer have had a superb winter and we think this is one of the reasons our fallow fawns are so early
